Minor update

-- I've been working on an application server for web app development. It's written in Cobra for Cobra although I suppose other .NET languages could leverage it. Nothing to show right now. It may be a few weeks before I put out the initial release.

-- I'm supporting users and hackers (people working on the compiler) in irc.

-- I hope to cut a Cobra-2009-07-XX release this week and catch up on the monthly updates.

-- The JVM back-end work has been stalled while I work on the app server described above. It appears I don't have time to do both in the same week.

Any news on this?

When do you think the next generally available update will be released?

-- I don't know when the next release will be. I'm swamped with contract work right now. In the mean time, please install from source.

What is entailed in getting a release version ready?

In particular, is this something that you can offload to someone else? I think it would be good to show some life on the news page on the front, and a release (even an .85 release) would be a good way to go :D

Unfortunately the first time a release procedure is offloaded to someone, it's probably more work than the release. That's further exacerbated by the fact that I haven't done one in awhile.

I totally agree the web site needs an update, but I broke my homespun templating system that I use to produce the static pages and have not had a chance to fix it. It's still high on my list, although I have favored most bug reports over it since those can impede efforts to use Cobra.

I appreciate the thoughts.

It has been announced that a Version 2.0 has been checked in for this with various improvements.
