I don't like either. But that's probably because I associate "hyper" with children toys and exaggerated newspaper articles.

How about "snakepit" or something related to snake charming? Would imho be a better fit for the Cobra programming language.

I picked HyperStack because of the similarity to HyperCard: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HyperCard

"Hyper" is there as in:
-- hypertext
-- Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP)
-- the common definition of the word: over; beyond; above... and even the dictionary lists "related to hypertext" as the 2nd definition :-)

It does not invoke children's toys or exaggerated articles in my mind. Does it for other readers?

"Snakepit" does not sound very inviting. :o

The exaggerated form for news is from "hype" (informal/slang for hyperbole). Sort of true since that's the only way to sell news these days--everything has a crazy headline. I don't get the children toys connection, but now I'm curious :).

I think snakepit gives the impression that if you use it you'll get bitten, which is more appropriate for another web language/framework that will remain nameless lol.

Hi! I was introducing myself to Cobra and stumbled on this discussion. A lightweight web framework using Cobra would be very interesing, so a big +1 for the project itself :) About the name - HyperMint works for me - but if I can just throw in an idea a guest here - I both like the one word names + snake related. So what bout Naja? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naja
Kind regards
Jonas

I see the idea, but have to admit that I've grown attached to HyperMint. Of course, there will be other projects in the future that could benefit from such a name as "Naja".
