Mindmap for cobra

Postby hopscc » Mon Dec 17, 2012 10:51 pm

I came across this a while ago:
Sensemaking - program beyond your ability which was applied to Python.

I though it might be instructive to do something for Cobra so I downloaded the creator/viewer app ( Freemind) and proceeded to make a couple of mindmaps,
one for Cobra Features/Overview and one for Cobra syntax/learning.

The current results are accessable at
bitbucket.org/hops/cobra/src - Mindmaps

You could think of one as a interest/teaser marketing tool for an introduction/overview to cobra,
the other for actually learning the salient points as to how to familiarise about form and syntax and use cobra effectively)
The form, structure and content reflect my own particular view of things - it may or may not be useful in that layout to anyone else.

Its all the same info thats already available on the Cobra-language site ( so at this point its principally documentation) but laid out and accessible a different way and more interestingly perhaps foldable/filterable and readily augmented/changed as desired
for general info/utility or personal annotation
( its also incomplete wrt to the web site info but thats slowly being addressed as we have more rainy days :) )

I've not done much yet into tailoring beyond existing web site info for my own use/devt but that will be probably the next step
after capturing enough of the base info and to get a feel for the app and its usefulness
(or it may turn into an entirely separate mindmap)

So far its been pretty cool.

Have a go and see what you think.

Sorry - I assumed anyone who wanted it would just use Mercurial and do a pull from my bit bucket URL.
( Mercurial is a distributed version control system - hg)

perhaps an easier way without that is from a browser
goto my Mindmaps bitbucket page.
click on the desired .mm filename.
In the resulting browser screen click on the 'RAW' button/link on top rhs of screen
save the resulting page to a file given the same name ( <whatever>.mm)

alternatively use your browser to bring up a popup menu over the 'RAW' button/link
select 'Save link as ..' (or whatever your browser equivalent is).

The saved local file should be readable by Freemind all going well.
