So you're coding it against Qios, right? Was it discontinued? http://qios.nl/software/devsuite says:

QIOS DevSuite is not available anymore and is no longer supported by our Servicedesk.


Was QIOS your library or someone you knew?

What do you think of using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)? Microsoft is using it in Visual Studio so it's getting attention and support.

Wow - we used that at work, so I used it because I was familiar with it. Hm... I've got 0 experience w/ WPF, and I know it is a big undertaking, so I likely won't move over to that going forward.

Given that it's another GUI framework, it would not be hard to learn. Also, it's popular enough that there are plenty of books, stackoverflow answers, blogs, etc. We even have a sample:
